Meet the Staff

Matt Tenaglia – Band Director

This is Matt’s first year as director of the Warwick Marching Band. Matt previously served as Director of Bands in the North Schuylkill School District from 2009-2016. Matt is a 2009 graduate from West Chester University where he was a member of the “Incomparable” Golden Rams Marching Band for four years serving as Tuba Section Leader and Vice President during his senior season. Matt also received his masters degree in Wind Conducting from West Chester in 2013.

Eric Rothenberger – Assistant Marching Band Director, Brass Instructor, Announcer

This is Eric’s 10th year with the Warwick Marching Band. He is a 2009 graduate of Millersville University and is most recognizable as the guy warming up the brass sections, and as the official “Voice” of the Warwick Marching Band.  Eric previously served as the marching band director in the 2016 season.  Eric has been involved with marching band since he was 13. He has 3 years marching experience with the Millersville University Marching Band and had a brief stint with the Jersey Surf Drum and Bugle Corps. Eric served as mellophone section leader for the Millersville University Marching Band. Eric is a social studies teacher at Conrad Weiser High School.

Scott Goebel – Drill Designer

This is Scott’s 7th year with the Warwick Marching Band. Scott previously taught at Manheim Township HS from 1983-2006. Scott’s marching experience includes Manheim Twp HS 1979-82. Trumpet Section leader and soloist 1980-82. Scott has served as Drill Designer of Warwick since 2014.

Scott works for Schuylkill Valley Sports as the VP of Team Sales. Scott is married to Connie Goebel since 1989 and father of Jordan and Becca who are both Warwick and WMB Alums.

Kaitlin Scott – Woodwind Instructor, Visual Instructor

This is Kaitlin’s 6th year with the Warwick Marching Band. She is a 2009 graduate of Warwick High School and a 2013 graduate of Millersville University, where she received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Music Education. Kaitlin has been involved with marching band since 9th grade. She served as the flute and piccolo section leader and, as an assistant drum major for the Warwick Marching Band. After high school, she had 2 years of marching experience with the Millersville University Marching Band (piccolo & cymbal line) and is currently in her 4th year with the DCA World Champion, Reading Buccaneers Drum and Bugle Corps (trumpet & mellophone).

Kaitlin has received awards and scholarships such as: the John Phillip Sousa Award, U.S. Marine Corps Semper Fi Band Award, and the Music for Everyone Teaching Scholarship. Outside of the Warwick Marching Band, Kaitlin is an intermediate instrumental music teacher in the Manheim Township School District.

Katy Rothenberger – Colorguard Instructor

This is Katy’s 10th year with the Warwick Marching Band. She is a 2010 graduate of Millersville University. Katy marched in both indoor and outdoor colorguard ensembles throughout high school. At Millersville, Katy participated for 4 years in the Millersville University Marching Band, serving as colorguard captain for 3 of those years. Katy was one of the founding members of the indoor colorguard ensemble “Villa Pirata” as a performer in their first season. Katy is a math teacher at Wilson High School.

Shannon Schlegel – Visual designer, Colorguard Instructor

This is Shannon’s 10th year on staff with Warwick Marching Band. While attending Millersville University Shannon marched with the Millersville University Marching Band for three years before taking over as colorguard student coordinator in 2007.  Shannon joined the staff in 2009 and served as colorguard instructor for three years. Shannon was also one of the founding members of Villa Pirata Indoor Colorguard. She served as student coordinator while marching with the group in 2008 and 2009 and served as assistant director in 2010 and 2011. Shannon also worked as colorguard designer for Pottstown Senior High School in 2006, 2007 and 2009.

Emily Fetsick – Colorguard Instructor

This is Emily’s 3rd year teaching at Warwick. Emily is a former student of Warwick High School, and has marched three years with the Warwick Marching Band. Upon graduation, Emily attended Shippensburg University and spun a year with the Shippensburg University Red Raider Marching Band. Emily is a current student at Millersville University, after transferring her junior year, and is majoring in Psychology.

Darren Scott – Low Brass Instructor, Visual Instructor

This is Darren’s 4th year with the Warwick Marching Band. He is a 2004 graduate of Pottsgrove High School and graduated in 2009 with his B.S. degree in Physics from Millersville University.

Darren has been involved with marching activities for 15 years. He began with the Pottsgrove high school marching band (Alto Saxophone) as a freshman in high school and was section leader from his sophomore through senior year. Darren also participated in the Marauder Marching Band for all 4 years at Millersville University and was named section leader for his sophomore through senior years. Darren also assumed the role of marching band website developer for his junior and senior years. After graduation, Darren participated  for 4 seasons with the Reading Buccaneers drum and bugle corps (2009-Euphonium, 2011-2nd Baritone, 2012- 2nd Baritone, 2013- 1st Baritone). During his tenure with the Reading Buccaneers, the corps won 3 world championships (2009, 2012, 2013) and set the highest DCA score ever achieved (99.025) in 2009 and broke that score in 2012 (99.03).

Darren currently works at Berk-Tek in New Holland, PA as a Product Engineer. Berk-Tek manufactures all the latest category cabling with product offerings ranging from Category 6A to Category 5e and everything in between. Darren currently lives in Leola, PA.

Kyle Farkas – Drumline Instructor

This is Kyle’s 1st year working with the Warwick Marching Band. Kyle is a graduate of Bridgewater-Raritan High School in New Jersey, where he was heavily involved in the marching programs, including being Drum Major his senior year. Kyle then went on to get a B.S. in Chemistry from Elizabethtown College and then a Teaching Certification from Millersville University, where he continued to play in various ensembles. He has worked with marching ensembles in New Jersey, including his home BRHS Marching Band as well as the J.P. Stevens High School Marching Hawks. In his spare time, Kyle is a Chemistry Teacher at Cedar Cliff High School in the West Shore School District.

Jen Miller – Pit Instructor

This is Jen’s 2nd year with the Warwick Marching Band. She is a 2012 graduate of Warwick High School and a 2016 graduate of West Chester University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelors of Music. She marched 4 years with the Warwick Marching Band in drum-line and then 2 years in the Golden Rams Marching Band in the cymbal line. Jen is also working as the Pit Instructor for the Ephrata High School Marching Band.
